Managing construction traffic
We understand that construction traffic may be a cause for concern, and we will be doing as much as we can to manage this.
Access options are limited, and we aim to make the most appropriate use of existing roads. We have discussed all routes and agreed the option that our construction traffic could take with both North Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire councils. In addition, we have also carefully scheduled work to ensure there are as few vehicles as possible.
Further details of how construction traffic will be managed for each side of the Humber can be found below:
The planning applications will each be supported by a Transport Assessment. We also seek to:
- Avoid HGVs travelling during school pick up and drop off times.
- Limit most traffic to standard daytime working hours, including water deliveries.
- Provide new passing places and with the option to leave these in place for use long term.
- Provide a community liaison contact.
- Use wheel washing where applicable to minimise impact on public Highways.
During this construction phase, we welcome community feedback, and the project will endeavour to use the feedback from our consultation period as best possible to minimise impacts during the HDD trial. We will also use any feedback we received during this period to help inform the construction of the Humber Carbon Capture Pipeline and maximise any benefits to the local community.
